our trip to the ice rink was a huge hit. all of the kids caught on so quickly - i was very surprised! we found a great way to be the heat on friday!! enjoy your weekend, see you Monday!!

today was a nice reminder of what it means to be a kid in the summer!! we played outside 90% of the day and enjoyed, sprinklers, slip'n slide, water balloons, wading pools, popcicles, and ice cream!!! (not to mention we are still riding bikes and scooters on a daily basis)

it has been so much fun to watch the kids enjoy the y on a weekly basis: some have improved their swimming so much!! the slide is still a huge hit and swimming is a great way for all of us to beat the heat!!!

bowling was so much fun!! the kids did great and it was incredible to see how differently each one of them rolled the ball!

here are a few shots from the park today--i especially like them because they show the kids being kids--they really do all get along, even on the days when everything seems to be a complain or an argument or a tattle. today was very HOT after the park we got ice cream and headed back for some rest. enjoy your weekend!!!

our week in review:

we have had a blast this week!! i hope that everyone had a very happy, fun, and safe holiday weekend. monday was not very busy but as soon as tuesday rolled around we were all about having fun!! the chick-fil-a cow visited us--reminding us that friday is cow appreciation day--dress like a cow, visit chick-fil-a, and receive a free meal!! then we went to the "jack" and cheered for the cubs!! (they won 11-1) wednesday we were going to swim, thanks to the rain we were able to get ice cream instead!! thursday we were able to serve some local firefighters lunch!!! (the kids did an awesome job) we'll end the week with a trip to the park!!

we are still enjoying bikes and scooters at summer rec--remember you can bring your bike or scooter to use on days when we're just hanging out!!

Girls just wanna have FUN!!!

what a special day we had today: just girls!!! a fun tea party, bikes, and some water play--we didn't do our planned field trip due to weather, but we had a great time with some good "old fashioned" summer fun!!! have a wonderful holiday weekend! see some of you Monday and the rest of you Tuesday--don't forget we have a field trip on Tuesday!!
