Here are a few pictures from our trip to the park. Not very many "action" shots but great pictures of friends. It's nice to see how each of them look out for each other, share stories, and laugh together. Have a great weekend and I'll see you guys Monday morning!

day three:
Hey guys!!
Sorry that these updates come later in the evening, I hope that I can post a little bit about our days and upcoming trips, and for this to be a fun way to stay up-to-date with Summer Rec!! We've made it through three pretty easy days-just getting used to being around each other all day and trying the settle into a schedule! For the most part everyone is happy just "hanging out". We've been lucky and haven't had to worry about to much rain...I'm sure that won't last!!
I'm pleased to report that everybody is doing great with reading-some kids want to read everyday until they reach 100 minutes! We're still looking for some book suggestions that would be age/level appropriate for our group. Let me know if you have any recommendations.
Anyway here are some pictures of the first week at Summer Rec: remember our shirts are in and we're going to the park tomorrow!!! See you in the morning.

day one:
Today was a great day! I'm so thankful that the rain waited and we were able to have plenty of time to play outside! The kids helped make our Summer Rec rules and they did a wonderful job!! Some key rules that we'll be sure to follow everyday are:
1. Keep your hands to yourself.
2. Always tell the truth.
3. Be kind to one another.
4. Have Fun!!!
This is a short week for us and Friday we'll take a trip to Riverside Park (a.k.a. Manatee Park or "The Wood Park"). We're bringing our lunches with us so be sure to pack a water bottle! Have a great week and check back soon for some pictures and other updates!!

Getting Started:
Happy Memorial Day weekend!! I hope that everyone has been able to stay high and dry and was able to enjoy the sunshine today. This blog will be the place where you can stay up-to-date with GBC's Summer Rec program. I hope that it is useful and informative!! Check back soon for any updates!!
